folsomia
counter
The FolsomiaCounter software facilitates evaluation of ecotoxicology soil tests that are based on the reproduction of springtail Folsomia candida, eg. OECD guideline 232. By its high degree of automation (automatic vessel detection, automatic Collembola counting, and automatic body length measurement of Folsomia candida) the manual evaluation effort is reduced from manual counting of individuals to simple visual inspection of the results.
The software further applies the visual analytics methodology combining the vast processing power of computers with the excellent recognition and reasoning capabilities of human investigators. This combination provides an excellent overview of the results of the automatic methods. A variety of data export capabilities (PDF, JSON and CSV) allow for further analysis in external statistics software (such as SPSS, SAS, or MS Excel) and provide reports ready for QA. Various consistency checks and a modern graphical user interface contribute to the usability and user-friendliness of the software. The FolsomiaCounter was designed and developed in tight cooperation with a leading company in the area of ecotoxicology soil tests and provides various features to assure GLP, such as audit trail. It is available for Windows 11.
The quality of digital image aquisition is key to reliable automatic analysis. Visionalytics offers the field-tested photoboxes, such that image aquisition hardware and analysis software complement each other. We provide the complete analysis system from one source.
The photobox includes:
- Application-specific combination of camera and objective lens
- Robust photobox with drawer for simple loading of samples
- Diffuse illumination avoiding irritating reflexions
- Wireless or wire-based image aquisition process
- Setup of the recording parameters
- Briefing and training of your technicans
